Farhan is naughty, Abhay is witty, Hritik handsome and Katrina beautiful. Friendship, thrills, emotion, romance, fear. Javed Akhtar's poetry is soothing. The movie touches everyone who wants to get out of their inner shackles and unburden and emerge as a free soul.

127 Hours

A true story brilliantly told. James Franco has done full justice to the character of Aron Ralston, the real life mountaineer. One of Dany Boyle's best.

The movie kicks off on jolly and cheerful mood and suddenly...st...stuck. An intense movie where you get connected with the character so much so that that it feels like as if its happening to you. I won't go into the details of the storyline, for you have to watch it for yourself to witness this nerve racking experience.

No One Killed Jessica

The long weekend started with the movie No One Killed Jessica. Was looking forward to this movie, not for the love of the two leading ladies. I had followed Jessica Lall case upto the judgement.

And when i heard this case has metamorphosed into a movie i was kind of excited to see the screen version. I liked it. The importance of media in nailing the killer is very well shown. But the reporter, Meera Gaity played by Rani Mukherjee (was she inspired by Burkha Dutt?) seemed over extrovert in her behavior. An ambitious journalist, dominating her dumb colleagues does Shirshasan in office too (it canhappen only in movies!).

Nevertheless, Jessica has got the justice finally. Please watch the movie for the sake of awareness and to see how media and public pressure can really contribute in punishing the gulity.

Seven Pounds

Watched a movie this weekend after a very long time. The movie is an emotional story of a man who saves the lives of Seven struggling individuals. Ben Thomas, an IRS agent with a fateful secret embarks on an extraordinary journey of redemption by forever changing the lives of these strange people.

Will Smith is brilliant as usual in a quiet and rather introvert character. Directed by Gabriele Muccino, this 2008 release, though got negative reviews from critics was a box office hit.

A must watch for all Will Smith fans

The Transporter

Watched this movie last weekend. Released in 2002 , directed by Corey Yuen, this movie is about Frank Martin (Jason Statham) who works as a Transporter. His job is to deliver packages from one place to another. He carries out dangerous and mysterious tasks strictly adhereing to set of rules.

Rule one: Never change the deal.

Rule two: No names asked. He doesn't want to know for whom he's working or what he's transporting.

Rule three: Never look into the package.

The problem starts when he breaks the third rule out of curiosity, opens the bag to find a beautiful girl tied. With his life in danger he fights to protect the lives of many enslaved people

The Terminal

Another superb performance from my favorite actor Tom Hanks as Viktor Navorski form Krakhozhia.(i just loved his accent when he says this!)

He finds a job-makes new friends-play matchmaker-helps a stranger-discovers America.
Yes all these at the airport Terminal! This is the whole story in one line.

I discovered some interesting facts after watching the movie:

'The Terminal' set was a near-full-size replica built in a former hangar, with three working sets of escalators, and populated by many familiar stores (e.g. Burger King, Mrs. Fields, W.H. Smith). Many of the stores and restaurants were built by the construction crews that build actual mall and airport stores for the respective companies, and some had fully-functioning equipment (e.g. ovens, cash registers, etc).

The girl with the suitcase that Viktor tries to help is Steven Spielberg's daughter Sasha.

This is amazing one...
Although Viktor comes from the fictional country of Krakozhia, the language he speaks in the movie is Bulgarian! The written material shown (the Fodor's guide and the magazine page with the jazz greats) is in Russian! The label on the Planters peanuts can is neither in Bulgarian nor in Russian. Viktor's driving license is issued in Gomel, Republic of Belarus, and has a woman's name on it (written in Cyrillic)!!

A weekend well spent. Nothing could make it better than a good English movie. It was 21, directed by Australian director Robert Luketic, starring Jim Sturgess, Kevin Spacey and a couple of others who were part of blackjack team.

Movie is inspired by a true story of six MIT students who took Vegas casinos for a ride in the 1990s and suffered its consequences. Kevin Spacey, the mysterious MIT math professor handpicks the most brainy ones and trains them the art of card counting at the blackjack table.

Ben wants to raise $300,000 to attend Harvard Medical school after MIT. He sees no other possible way but to join his professor's team to lead it.

A fast paced entertainment keeps u glued till the end.
