Tile Paintings - Flowers on Tiles

Some more experiments on tiles continues.... This time the tiles are bigger and colorful. These are all 8"x8" tiles. Flowers and trees are one of the obvious inspiration when you start painting.

So here I am with nature's depiction of beauty captured on tiles.

Tile Painting

It started accidentally with a single tile. And now I can't stop it. You must be wondering what am talking about. Yes, this is about my new found talent (can I say that?) Tile painting. I liked the idea of painting on tiles so much, that i even exhibited these painted tiles at an exhibition held at Chitrakala Parishat in Bangalore.

Recycled Art - Gift Jars

Here I am with one more recycling idea. Empty jars being used for making a beautiful decorative piece or a perfect gift item. You can use jars or bottles of any size and shape for this purpose. I have used empty honey bottles

First, empty the jar, clean it and dry it, remove any stickers on it before using it for any purpose

You can fill any material of your choice. May be layers of different colored rice or sand, dry flowers, small cute dolls. You can even convert these jars into interesting votive for candles

I have used crystal jelly balls. I picked up these lovely pastel jelly balls for a very low price. Cover the jar with a gift wrapper (you can use the old ones also). Tie a beautiful bow with a ribbon. Now your jars are all set to be gifted which are ready at such minimum expense

Craft ideas for Christmas

Christmas is here. All are gearing up for the upcoming Christmas Party and busy in decorating Christmas trees and houses. I have brought a simple and easy craft idea this time.

Here i will show you how to make these jingle bells in few easy steps

All u need is a carton, red velvet( or ordinary ) sheet and satin( to make bow), glue, some fresh leaves, golden glitter or cello tape

Lets get started off. First cut out the carton in the shape of a bell like this.

Take the red velvet paper and cut two pieces in the same shape but bit bigger in size, which covers on the sides too(because the carton is bit thicker than the normal chart paper)

Stick it on both the sides. In order to detail, put golden glitter or golden cello tape if you have at the bottom of the bell. You can highlight the borders even.

Make a cute little bow with the red satin and paste it at the tip of the bell

You can even try the shape of three bells together in the same way

Make a small hole at the tip and thread it through a simple thread or satin to hang. Collect some fresh pine leaves or christmas tree leaves, bunch them and fix them

So the bells are ready!

New Passion

Me once again with a new passion.I have been trying a lot many new things in this past one year, learning Table Tennis, trying hands on the musical instruments guitar and keyboard,trying creative art to name a few. Sometimes it makes me think that today's world demands us to be "Jack of all trades".

Coming back to my new passion. It is jewelry designing. It all started on a lighter note on a suggestion by my sister nandu. The interest soon became a passion. And i decided to open a blog to let out my creative designing instincts.

Recycled Art

I normally give a second thought before throwing away any household items that are no more needed.If my creative mind says yes it can be converted to some useful form of art or craft i go ahead recycling it.
Last week,while winding up the party at home, i found two water glasses cracked.

By just using black and white sheets of paper i could give a decent shape and design to the glasses. And here is the final product.

I feel recycling is not only good for the environment,it also enhances the creative part of you!
