One more sweet dish for the sweet tooth! Besan Laddu, a very tasty, rich and yummy Laddu. Recipe is very simple but the preparation is bit lengthy. Nevertheless..

How to make Besan Laddu

Besan / Gram Flour - 2 cups
Maida / All purpose Flour - 1 cup
Wheat Flour - Half or 1 cup
Ghee - 1-2 cups
Powdered Sugar - 1cup (or more as per taste)
Dry Fruits


1. Mix all the flours in a thick bottom pan. Switch on the heat and keep on stirring adding the ghee little by little. It takes a lot of time actually.
(Stir untill the raw smell of the flours goes and the mixture becomes a hard chunk.)

2. Add more ghee if needed, untill it becomes a hard mass.

3. You can prepare this at night. Leave the mixture overnight. In the morning break the hard chunk so that no lumps are formed.

4. Now add powdered sugar and mix well. Add dry fruits and take a handful of mixture and form into laddus. Soft besan Laddus are ready.

[If you have added less ghee, the mixture won't bind properly and they break off easily while shaping laddus. It has happened with me twice. So take care while mixing]
