London Olympics - Medal Tally Day 8

A big day for India! While we saw Badminton sensation Saina Nehwal loose yet again to the Chinese and archer Joydeep Karmakar just missing the Bronze, Vijay Kumar clinched a Silver medal in the 25m rapid fire pistol event.

An Army sharp shooter, 26 year old Vijay Kumar fought a thrilling battle to give India the second medal in the London Olympics. This medal came at a point when we had lost hopes for medals from the so called favorite contestants of Indian Contingent. We still have hopes from Sain Nehwal for the Bronze medal and in athletics apart from Boxing and Tennis.

Vijay Kumar is a Subedar in the Indian Army, won a Silver medal at the London Olympics 2012
